Lions head coach Dan Campbell announced that safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is ready to return from his pectoral tear and could start practicing next week. Campbell praised Gardner-Johnson's quick healing and strength recovery, but mentioned that they still need to work out a plan to get him back into football shape. It is unlikely that Gardner-Johnson will have a significant impact in IDP lineups this season.
